Long overdue UPDATE

First of all Happy 4th of July to all my American friends..
The trip to Pennsylvania, Lancaster County was totally amazing.. I enjoyed a wonderful trip, we had a very busy schedule. I was amazed with all we were able to see and do in 10 days. I thought the trip was planned extremely well, the planning and coordination of events, were outstanding.. I was more than surprised that with all the excellent meals, that I didnt gain weight, but we did tons of walking and it was hot and humid.... I Loved everything about the Amish adventure, will be planning on going again in two years..
I was not able to get many pictures, the camera I had with me, only worked for about a day, so the memories are in my mind, sorry I have none to share..
Summer temps today and lots of sunshine, I will post again when I have some quilting projects to show. I do promise to post some pictures one day soon, as soon as I learn how to post well.

Amish Trip

Tomorrow morning I am off for a brand new adventure.  I will be flying to Philadelphia, then a drive to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to enjoy a 10 day Amish tour. This is completely out of my comfort zone, as I will not be travelling with family, but will be joined by 40 women, only know 2 of them by name. Travelling to a place I have never been, and sharing a room with someone I dont know. Oh well its going to be fun, I hope I remember to take a few photos, and will have memories to share with you.
Will post later with an update of the trip.

Brooklynn Quilts Too

Its been so long ago that I posted, not sure I remember how, I apologize for being so far behind updating.
The greatest day of the week for me is Tuesdays, thats Gramma Day. My grandaughter now loves to spend her Tuesday afternoon with me  in my sewing room enjoying the process of quilting.
We started our first quilt in November, which we made and donated to Make a Wish, she was thrilled to be able to give it for charity, the process has her so eager to make more.
The second project we made a quilt for her Mom, it was supposed to be for Mothers Day, but we were way ahead in the process so we had it ready it time for her birthday in April.. We are now on the third quilt, this one is for her Grampa Ron, we are almost finished the quilt top,just have to find a fabric for some borders and then to decide on the backing color.. I know that this time we spend  together quilting will be a memory she will never forget, its so rewarding to see her get so involved in something that we both are passionate about. I will post some pictures of the quilts one day soon, in the meantime I need to remember to update more often. For whatever the reason, I had to reactivate the blog.. As well I want to wish all of you a very Happy Easter.. God bless each and everyone.

National Quilting Day

What a way to celebrate my favorite pastime. Not calling it a hobby, thinks its my life style these days. I am taking full advantage of the special holiday, I will be involved in two events in two different quilt stores today.. And if I could clone myself I would also be at a third, sewing and making quilts for charity. I will help out next weekend as I promised.
Yesterday I was preparing for a future class using my Accuquilt Go and cutting charm squares. Next week I am attending Charm school LOL.. its quilt related no worries LOL.
Happy National Quilting Day to all of you... Create and do what you love, and remember Finished is better than Perfect.
Im off to work on my PHD's. for those not sure of what that is.. PHD's = Projects Half Done.

2009 is almost over. 2010 awaits.

I want to wish all of you the warmest greetings and hope you were blessed by family and friends during the Christmas season . It wont be long before a new year awaits. 2010 wow . seems like only yesterday when we wondered what the year 2000 would bring.

Last year I challenged myself to learn to use all the electronic devices I was not familar with, cell phone stuff like texting, retrieving messages, taking pictures. An ipod that I still need to figure out more. Using the computer and learning how to create text for quilt labels and print.

I can say I have taken the fear out and have tried to use most of the electronics I own, this year I will learn how to make good use out of my new Pfaff 18.8 long arm machine. There is so much I Know I will accomplish once I set my mind to it .. computer software for my longarm will be the next challenge to overcome

July 5th.. where does the time go????

It seems the days ( months) go by faster and faster. This week I have given myself a attainable challenge to reach.... I must finish the forth quilt in the series of Grad quilts...I got the other three done for my nieces, but Lisa our youngest graduated too, and I never got hers done. She is in Mexico this week with a girlfriend and her family, so this is a perfect time to get hers started and completed.....best part she wont even see me working on it.. I got the strips cut today. She did pick out what fabrics she wanted, and she also wanted a chinese coin pattern.. I think this is a very attainable goal and after cutting the fabrics, it will look amazing.. I will keep you posted and plan on posting some pics of the other quilts I have been working on.. Happy stitching to all.
